1. What is NABIC?
NABIC stands for North American Bangladeshi Islamic Community.

2. Who can be a member of NABIC?
According to the By-Laws of NABIC, any Bangladeshi Muslim in North America, who agrees with the aim and purpose of this organization, actively participates in its activities, and commits to abide with its rules and principles, can be a voting member by filling out the membership form and paying the dues determined by the Executive Committee of NABIC.

Current membership due is $25 for family (husband and wife). Life membership is $500. Annual subscription for Newsletter only is $15. Members receive newsletter free.

3. Do I have to be a member to subscribe to NABIC Newsletter?
No.

4. Do I have to be a member to attend NABIC’s annual meeting?
No.

5. Do I have to be a member to subscribe to NABIC-L, the electronic listserver?
No. Not at this point.

6. Do I have to be a member to contribute to any NABIC-supported projects?
No.

7. How can I become a member?
Fill out the membership form and pay your dues to become a member.

8. There are so many NGOs in Bangladesh. Why should I support NABIC-supported projects in Bangladesh?
NABIC-supported projects are Islamically-oriented. NABIC tries to build contact and support projects that, in varying degree:
• a. aim at bringing long term changes in people’s lives.
• b. recycle the charitable dollars in the form of small-scale capital credit.
• c. focus on family in a balanced manner than on any specific gender.
• d. take a comprehensive Islamic approach to addressing socio-economic miseries of people.
• e. build network among concerned people for worthy social causes.
• f. maintain independence from patronage of the forces of the status quo.
• g. maintain independence from any political party.
• h. have potential to evolve into a significant force for positive change in society.
Furthermore, NABIC makes its best effort to hold any such project accountable.

9. Does NABIC have any chapter?
No.

10. Is NABIC affiliated with any other organization in USA or Bangladesh?
No.

11. Is NABIC a nationalistic or ethnic organization?
No. NABIC is an Islamic, Ummah-oriented, but Bangladesh-focused organization. For more details, see the editorial, "NABIC and its Ummatic Orientation".

12. What is NABIC’s source of fund?
Dues from general and life membership, newsletter subscription, and contributions for NABIC-supported socio-development projects
